Is an absolutely silly argument. But...
What would it take for you to consider a new 2.0T Camaro over a new Miata? Price? Mechanical features?
Or does it have to have the V6 or 1LE package before you start considering?

Well, I don’t fit in the Miata so I think a 2.0T Camaro wins by default. Plus the EcoTec 2.0T is a gem of a motor, same goes for the alpha platform.

Ooh, very good point! The Camaro is a great alternative if one doesn’t fit in the Miata!

I wouldn’t consider a camaro over anything*. Well, maybe a chainsaw enema**. I don’t even like having to move customers’ camaros around.
Miata Is Always The Answer.
*-Hyperbole. I’d take a modern camaro over some things, but it’s extremely low on my list of modern cars.
**-Also hyperbole, and there’s less-unpleasant things I’d rather not do than have a Camaro. Though I really wouldn’t want to have to grow the required mullet.

Miata until V6 1LE.

Not even if was thousands cheaper, had a usable back seat or even if you could comfortably see out of the coupe?

Which car will still be on the road in 15 years? Yep that’s the Miata!

I think you’ve gotten that backwards... what would it take for me to consider a Miata over literally anything else? Probably threats of death or dismemberment or a PT Cruiser.

Rear visibility. Between my Subarus, Rangers and Miata, I’ve gotten spoiled in terms of being able to see everything at all times.
Throw in a V8, and I’d make an exception

Fair enough lol

I’d bet dollars to donuts the Camaro is faster around a racetrack.
Convertibles suck.

...so a slightly-used Mustang (or Genesis Coupe, or G37 coupe, or the varied options from Mercedes, Jaguar, BMW, and even Audi)? I’d take that.
The lacking backseat doesn’t bother me, as long as the trunk has a large opening and plenty of room (the Camaro doesn’t). Visibility absolutely needs improvement as it’s easily one of the greatest deficits about the car. Cost isn’t much of an impediment either, as the car isn’t that desirable to begin with. I’d take a CTS before a camaro.

If I could only have the one car, I’d chose.the Camaro for practicality. Otherwise, Miata.

Can’t argue with that. The Camaro and Miata are very polarizing vehicles.

I don’t think I’d ever consider a Viper, Mustang, Camaro or Challenger.
Not sure about the Mazda MX5 but would definitely have a Fiat 124.

I dunno, I think it would depend on be track. Something short (say right around 2 miles) and twisty where the Miata can just blast around wide open the whole time would have the advantage on the 2.0 trying to hustle the weight of the Camaro around.

Can the Camaro be the convertible? Because then I might. I’ve driven the current Camaro in V6 coupe form. It’s a very good car with an almost unfair chassis. That said, the Miata is just more fun on a daily basis. But I think taking the roof off the Camaro would make it a lot closer.

I’d rather have the Camaro. Especially given the aftermarket upgrade packages available.
What’s better than driving a fast car slow? Driving a slow car fast.

I’d have to go Camaro. I’ve never been in a convertable, but seeing as how I rarely roll my windows down, I probably wouldn’t care for it.
Plus trunk and a backseat you could at least keep crap in. Even if a person wouldn’t fit.

Wrong, if you can’t fit in a Miata you buy a Fiesta ST, Focus ST, Focus RS or Ford Mustang EcoBoost. Hmmm, I’m noticing a trend in those suggestions.
P.S. Just Joking, you buy what makes you happy.

Of course you can have the roofless Camaro! It’s supposed to be very similar to the coupe as well.

I’d probably take a 2.0T Camaro over the Miata. I like having a hardtop (no, the RF wouldn’t change my mind, because damn that’s a lot for a Miata).
![]() 08/30/2017 at 23:15 |

GTI.

Yeah the RF is very niche due to the price. I’m surprised every time I see one on the road.

Neither rwd nor a convertible, not really relevant...
![]() 08/30/2017 at 23:27 |

Yeah, the boostang is very similar to the Camaro but the Camaro is technically closer to the Miata than the Mustang is so it got picked lol
![]() 08/30/2017 at 23:34 |

Well I think threats of death will be coming soon.
Then again FP has moved on from the Miata to AWD and nice interiors.
Also why does auto correct change capitalized words. You’d think it’d figure out it’s a proper noun :/
![]() 08/30/2017 at 23:34 |

Yeah I need to rent a convertible one sometime. Oddly despite there being the plenty of Camaro and Mustang coupes to rent, it seems like all the rental convertibles are Mustangs. (Or Cascadas...)

Shorten it by 8-10 inches. My main criteria for a 2nd car was that it had to be shorter than my Camry because parking in San Francisco sucks and the Camaro is actually 1-2" longer.
![]() 08/31/2017 at 02:20 |

The Camaro would have to lose a lot of weight, something like 1000 lbs. It would have to shrink in size. It would have to stop being so hideous. I would want to be able to see out of it.
The Camaro has no chance.
I’d take the (exterior of the) Fiat 124 over the Miata though, because the Miata isn’t exactly pretty either.

the answer is clearly the Dodge Challenger Hellcat.

I bought one over either of those, so yes it is. For me anyway.
